What is in Honey Facial Products?

Honey is a big ingredient popping up on the labels of many skin care products. From manuka honey face gel to other types of honey facial products, there seems to be something magical that makes these products more beneficial than others. What is it that makes honey work so well?

For starters, honey facial products are not entirely new to the market. Though they are getting more attention and more manufacturers are adding them to the main ingredient list, honey has actually been used for skin care for a long time.

Honey has always been known as an effective antioxidant with powerful antibacterial enzymes, but there is something special hitting the market right now. The best honey facial products are not using just any kind of honey. Manuka honey face gel uses a particular type of honey from New Zealand that is very different from the typical honey found in other areas of the world.

Manuka honey comes from a bush called manuka in New Zealand. There has been a lot of research on the special properties that make up this unique honey source, and it has been scientifically proven time and again that there is indeed something very different and unique about this particular strain of honey. It has all of the antibacterial and antibiotic tendencies as any other honey, but there is something more powerful about it that delivers better results for skin care.

Skin care products that use honey take advantage of this type of honey because it has the power to rejuvenate and revitalize dried out, aging skin. It essentially takes years off your face and restores the natural health that your skin had when you were much younger.

There are two reasons that the special makeup of manuka honey is so efficient. First, the antibacterial components fight of free radicals which often damage skin cells and cause wrinkles, lines, and dry spots. Second, the unique properties of this strain of honey allow it to go deep into the skin and assist with the production of new skin cells.

The development of younger skin cells and the natural production of collagen in the skin is the big secret to turning back the clock and preventing wrinkles, lines, and sagging skin. Honey facial products using manuka honey have the power to do just that.

That is why manuka honey face gel tends to deliver more noticeable differences in the overall health and glow of the skin. Honey facial products will continue to be developed and marketed as research continues to prove what the amazing properties of honey from the manuka bush can do.
