Clown Costumes - Clowning Around At Halloween

Clown costumes. Some kids love them. Others hate them and are frightened by them. (Perhaps they've seen a clown show that frightened them, or had a bad experience with a real life clown.) But to those who do love clowns, their lives are filled with joy when they see a clown perform.

In order to wear clown costumes professionally, a lot of people choose to go to clown school. In clown school individuals learn how to conduct themselves, how to make people laugh, and fun extras like face painting and balloon animals.

Clown costumes also make a good choice for costume parties and as a child's Halloween costume. Babies especially look adorable in clown costumes and they also photograph well because they are so colorful.

Types of Clown Costumes

Clowns come in all different styles and sizes, if you do decide that you need clown costumes, it is important to keep this in mind. There are happy clowns, loud clowns, and silent clowns. Some are bald and some are more colorful than others. What kind of costume do you need? Do you need the costume simply because you want to play dress-up or will it have a more defined purpose?

Finding Clown Costumes

Clown costumes are fairly popular so you should be able to find them pretty easily year ëround. Check online and in the classifieds. Also, call costume shops and ask if they have costumes for sale or rent. You can also borrow clown costumes form those who've purchased them before. Also, your local theater company may have clown costumes they'd be willing to let you borrow or rent.

Using the Clown Costumes

What do you need the clown costumes for? There are some choices. Perhaps you've decided to become a professional clown. Or maybe you want to dress up as a clown for a child's birthday party. Maybe you've decided to be a clown for Halloween or to wear it to a costume party. Since there are so many different kinds of clown costumes, your use for it may dictate what kind of costume you end up with.

How to Design a Magic Show And Become a Successful Kids Magician

Let us assume that you are a good magician and have developed a good personality to use while performing the magic act for a kid's parties. In case you have not developed any character then stop and create one.

Watch a few great kids magicians and learn from them what type of character you want to create. An old second hand tux and top hat will no longer work. Kids are well-informed nowadays even little ones. Kids do not understand the cues in live a performance which are very common. Today's kids are raised in an age of television.

The starting of a kids show should do following things:
Get the audience in control. Even in school kids are taught to follow those in authority. For a few reasons many kids magicians forget to establish an authority early in their show. The result resembles uncontrollable kids.

Children need to react to clapping cues. When you welcome everybody to the show look over the viewers and say "This looks like a very big crowd, let us see how loud you can clap. On a count ONE, TWO, THREE! not bad.

In case you wish to start your career in a magic show as a children magician then think about that seriously. Kids are honest and there is nothing hard or more satisfying than to performing a children magic show. Being kids magicians might not be the simplest method to become a part time professional magician. However, it is a lot of fun. Children cartoons give the best examples of the point I am trying to make. For example, take "Loony Toons" and "Spongebob Square pants". These cartoons work great for the children and grown ups on various levels. This is what you should achieve to be a successful kid magician.

Mike is a Kids Entertainment Gold Coast Magician and an avid writer and he can easily make children laugh. With eighteen years experience and commitment to entertaining kids of all age groups Mike has performed at hundreds of venues from Birthday Parties, Child Care Centers, Clubs, School fetes to Shopping Centers, corporate and private functions. For more details please visit Magician Brisbane.

The Circus clown entertains in many different ways

We all love clowning around and playing the idiot bringing laughter to those around us but sometimes our antics seen as bit of fun can turn laughter into disaster. Circus Clowns are similar to that of the jester in many ways in how they entertained crowds of people with performances which included daft tricks and funny doings like face pulling even throwing buckets of water over fellow Circus Clowns.

As funny and hilarious as the clowns pranks are, what you have to remember is, these funny folk are well rehearsed in their profession - it takes years of training to perfect what they do. The Circus Clowns performance may entail death-defying stunts, which have had to be carefully supervised and pieced together because of the risks taken to claim laughs and giggles. Displays from the Circus Clown can consist of acrobatics where the clown now becomes a stunt man - for example knowing how to break a fall or tumble without causing injury to himself or to other clowns in on the act.

A travelling circus show that come to town will no doubt highlight the main event of entertainment with classic performances from the Circus Clowns. It is quite common for the clown to ask for audience involvement in their circus act where the clown gets a little naughty with the onlookers. Just the mention of the circus is coming to town is enough to start a riot among the happy customers queuing for tickets. Besides all the circus animals like the elephants - lion taming acts and dancing dogs - it is without doubt that it is the Circus Clowns that draw the crowds.

The clown entertains in many different ways, some acts may just be floor shows but others may include bareback horse riding - and it is because of this that any clowning you may have in mind for a friend or friends at a party needs to be well thought through. Clowns take risks but are trained to do so and you are not - so think twice before engaging on any dangerous mission you have planned just to get a laugh.

Fancy funny displays from Circus Clowns are no doubt hilarious just like that of their funny costumes and disguises - but take away the disguise - the ginger wig and cosmetic make up and we have a very serious person that takes their profession just as serious. Clowns are very skilled people.

If you are having a party then consider calling in the skilled to provide the entertainment for you. Warning if you are not skilled then dont take any chances because laughter can turn to disaster which is no laughing matter.

What Makes a Great Entertainer?

Most people at some point in their lives encounter a great entertainer, unless of course they live under a rock. And, most of those people if they’re lucky enough get to see more than one. Most everyone instinctively knows a great entertainer when they see one however, do they really know what goes into making one?

Based on my experience it’s not an accident that some entertainers stand out from the crowd. It’s based on a carefully laid out plan that includes; stage presence, humility, confidence, mental preparation, natural talent, experience and one secret ingredient.

Did you know that the number one fear in North America is public speaking? The only way to alleviate that fear is with practice. Public speaking or any type of performance in front of an audience takes practice. It’s not just about what to say or do, it’s about how to say or do it. Most great entertainers know that it’s far less important what you say or do, it’s how you say or do it.

So, how do you learn how to give a great performance? Well, the first thing you need is the right information. It always amazes me how few people know how to interact with an audience. It’s not just about being confident it’s about where to stand, how to stand, when to speak, how to speak, body language, how to move and how to address the audience. This type of information starts with a template. There actually is a template for giving any type of presentation. Most great entertainers know this. They do not wing it.

For example, there is a template just for the introduction which includes things like; how to take the stage, what to say first, asking enrolling questions, earning the right and strategically letting the audience what the presentation is all about and what’s in store for me. While this may seem like a simple thing, it’s not. An entertainer needs to know exactly how to perform each one of these steps. It’s not enough just to know the steps, you need to know how to deliver them.

Then, once you have the template down the hardest part comes next; how to put your personality into the template. This is the part that takes the most practice. I remember when I first put the template into practice it was nothing short of a disaster. Why? Because, I tried to be someone that I’m not. An audience can see right through that. I needed to find myself within the template and learn how to be me while still covering all of the things I need to do to connect with the audience.

Ok, so let’s say you’ve mastered the template and can deliver it in your own style and personality. What else do you need to know? Just this; the audience is the star! That’s the secret ingredient. Without it, you can never hope to be a great entertainer. And, that’s the biggest mistake that most upcoming performers do not understand. It’s all about the audience. In fact, the more you make it about the audience the more success as a great entertainer you’ll have.

The last thing an audience wants to see is some ego maniac artist take the stage and make it all about them. For example; if the artists performs what they want and say what they want with little regard for what the audience wants. That’s so wrong on so many levels. How to do you make it about the audience? Use the template. The template teaches you how to interact with them instead of performing down to them. If the audience sees you at their level the more success you’ll have.

A combination of the perfect performance template, experience and making the audience the star will propel any career beyond normal expectation. Just remember to get the right information from the right people. How? Go to someone who’s already doing it and ask them. It’s as simple as that.

Reality TV or Entertainment TV, You Decide

The truly educated man is that rare individual who can separate reality from illusion. - Author Unknown

Reality TV Shows.

Are they reality or just entertainment? Are they good for society? Do reality shows enhance culture? Are they a waste of time?

Let's clear up one thing first. Look up reality in the dictionary. It says, "Reality is the quality or state of being actual or true."

Now think about the last time you had your picture taken or were
video-taped. You knew the cameras were on and you acted just like you always do, didn't you?

Right!

You didn't scratch your backside or pick your nose. You smiled. You became someone other than your real self. I know, I know, sometimes you want to scratch more and pick more because you want to be gross or funny.

Bottom line is, you acted as you thought you were supposed to act. Do you still think any situation shown on a reality TV show is authentic? I vote NO!

Now look up entertainment and you'll learn that, "Entertainment is something that amuses, pleases, or diverts."

For most of us, this is why we watch a reality TV show. We get to see people acting like people. We laugh when they do stupid things. We cry with them when something bad happens. We shake our heads when they act like fools. Reality TV diverts our attention from our own lives and the things that happen around us. That can be either good or bad. Sometimes it's okay to escape from the problems, fears, and pressures of life… for a while.

So in that sense, Reality TV is good for society as long as we
remember it's just a simulation of reality. A slice of life portrayed by people acting as they are expected to act. Sequences and scenes are selected by producers, directors, and editors to create the reality defined by the show's premise. The actual reality is, it's an entertainment show that is designed to deliver a certain audience to a certain advertiser. You get entertainment – they get potential customers.

Can a reality TV show enhance our culture?

I believe it can. If we watch the characters of the various reality shows closely we can learn more about ourselves and our society. We get to see the entire range of human interactions and emotions. Greed, lust, love, selfishness, courage, fear, and more, it's all there. We can discover the things we value. We get to see people relating to people. We can learn what makes relationships stronger, and what tears people apart.

When we stay more than semi-conscious as we watch a reality TV or any TV show for that matter, we might learn something. Even if it's only that people do dumb things. Watch with your awareness intact. Reality TV shows are only simulations of life. Just keep telling yourself, "It's not real, it's not real..."..

Now if you use a reality show or any TV show to escape from your life and it's issues, then it is a waste of time. Stop living in and through someone's contorted and distorted created reality. Your solutions are in you not that plastic and glass box.

So those are my thoughts on the questions asked earlier. Here's one final suggestion I offer to you.

Turn off the TV. Get out there and experience the reality show called "Your Life." You will be amazed at how interesting and entertaining it can be.
