Wedding Photography - Tips For Finding Your Perfect Photographer

The day that a man and woman are joined together is perhaps one of the most joyous days of anybody's lifetime, and it is a day that will be looked upon with fond memories. Memories are not always so crisp and clear though, so pictures will most likely be taken in abundance, if anything so that relatives that didn't attend the event can see what they missed.

But then you face the dilemma of how wedding photography should be handled. While many couples are distraught by this simple fact, there are a few simple hints that can be remembered. When you are hiring somebody for wedding photography, be sure to give them a few pointers if they are new to the field.

The first, and perhaps most important part of wedding photography advice, is to create a "shot list", or a list of which sets of people you want to capture on film. Important targets would include the bridal couple (of course), direct relatives (particularly them with the bridal couple), friends of the bridal couple, and then amass all the families for one large family shot.

When talking to the photographer, be sure that they know your expectations. Many freelance photographers have a unique style of work, take a different amount of pictures, and even focus on different parts of the ceremony. Be sure that they know to turn off any camera sounds, and flashes as well if it will disrupt your particular ceremony. Remind them to catch any small details that you want to keep, such as rings, particular outfits, and even how the tables are decorated.

Also, be sure that they understand that "continuous shooting mode" is encouraged. Many times it is the moment that comes a second after the shot that would make the perfect picture, and continuous shooting mode helps capture these moments before they disappear forever. Also let them know that mistakes will happen, and encourage him to capture these moments on film! Sometimes, it's the silly moments that will provide the bridal couple with memories that last, and the pictures to accompany them will only enhance those memories.

While finding the right person for your wedding photography can be difficult, it is not impossible. Making sure that they remember these few pieces of sage advice can go a long way though, and reading up on guides or hiring professionals can ensure that your memories will be complete, and your pictures will be of top quality for whenever you choose to look back at that important day.
